This morning, @kyequaljustice filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that the Jefferson County District Court is violating the due process rights of people facing eviction in Louisville.

It's infuriating and dangerous.

Basically, the Court changed the phone number to appear at Zoom Eviction Hearings effective last Monday.

They didn't tell anyone.

Our clients, predictably, were late to their eviction hearings. They were told judgment had already been entered. Talk with their landlord.

WHAT?!?
I made a table to illustrate the shortcomings of the information the Court is providing to people facing eviction.
This was on Wednesday. The Court knew this was a problem starting on Monday.
Now, the Court is sending out instructions to people facing evictions to *go to a website* to find information about how to appear remotely at their Zoom Eviction Hearing.

A website.

That's it.
None of this is okay even in "normal" times.

10 months into a pandemic, it's *especially* not okay.

We're moving in the wrong direction!
