Assertion w/o argument = a mark of false teachers.
Wannabe experts yell louder and louder when their claims are questioned. The people of the truth patiently explain the truth revealed in Scripture aided by plain reason. 2/4
And *as* the people of the truth, we as Christians ought to train ourselves to be allergic to making assertions without arguments. Even if we are confident in our assertions—indeed, even if our assertions are true—they are not true on the authority of our say-so, but on... 3/4
...the authority of God as revealed in His Word and world.

Only then can the goal of your instruction be love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith (1 Tim 1:5). 4/4
