#FTV should transition to #FreeTheVote a multifaceted prodemocracy reform movement that includes election security, enfranchisement, voter access and turnout, campaign finance reform and vote method reform (and probably other's I'm missing). Anything that improves democracy.
Money in politics distorts which voices get heard, #FPTPisUndemocratic pointlessly limits what voters can express with their vote, voter(such as felon) disenfranchisement excludes voices that are part of the nation and should be heard, vote suppression does the same.
Unsecure elections mean that there's a chance bad actors could swing an election, and even when they don't it causes people to doubt the results. All of it is connected, all is important, we should be supporting each other and building solidarity to push for many reforms.
America (and other countries!) have been skating by on badly designed democratic mechanisms for generations because it was better than autocratic rule, but as democracy expands, we should be demanding more from our democratic controls, the field has made great strides.
We know more about how to create systems that accurately and fairly translate popular will into political power, we shouldn't be so devoted to tradition and the memory of our founding fathers that we can't update those systems for the modern era.
This movement, like all movements, doesn't have to agree on every detail, we just need a firm commitment to the goals of moving ever closer to one person one vote, to the democratic ideal of a free, fair, and popularly controlled state, away from plutocracy.
