This is presented as portraying Trump in a bad light. It doesn’t. It falsely states events that happened, omits entirely Trump’s coordination of lack of National Guard response with Chris Miller, and falsely suggests the plan to overturn the election was “dead” before Jan 6th. https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1356028589800648704
/ I do not understand the New York Times’ utter determination to excuse Trump’s criminality, but it won’t work this time. The facts are against them. Recordings of Rudy Guiliani on the night of 6th show he thought Jeffrey Clark would be AG the next day and challenge at SCOTUS.
/ The riots at the Capitol were planned by Donald Trump and the traitors around him, including Russian nationals, for the highly specific purpose of stopping the certification. Had they succeeded, Jeffrey Clark would have become AG and gone to SCOTUS.
/ In these historic times America desperately needs a free press to call it like it is. Trump’s advanced planning to remove the National Guard is nowhere in this piece. The idea Rosen’s threats to quit “worked” to kill the Clark option is simply disproven by Guiliani’s calls.
/ Donald J. Trump and the criminals around him needed longer than they had to wipe out the treason committed in 2016. We saw why with the Microchip indictment over *offenses committed in 2016*. They were DESPERATE. No crime, no sedition, was too great.
/final Donald Trump coordinated violence in order to install Jeffrey Clark, try and overturn the election and then eliminate prosecutions of himself and his kids. It was a desperate act and he was, and is, a desperate man. But it happened. No whitewash will work.
