Elon Musk was on Clubhouse yesterday and incase you missed it, don't worry we got you! We are distilling the main points that were made in this thread so you do not have to shift through too much chatter. So here goes!

Of course Elon (yes, we are now on first-name basis with him) needs no introduction. But we'll observe protocol and give one. He is the billionaire CEO, CTO and chief designer of SpaceX; CEO and product architect of Tesla, founder of The Boring Company; co-founder of Neuralink.

He made an announcement on his Twitter page that he would be on a show called Good Time on Clubhouse and while he didn't state what he would be taking about, thousands of people around the world were excited and in the hours leading to the show, there were 100s of pregame rooms.

So what were the big ideas discussed?

1. Life on Mars: Elon is a big believer of this and thinks it will take about 5 and a half years to get people on Mars.

2. Aliens: He said that he hasn't seen any conclusive evidence of aliens so far but that this doesn't mean it is not possible in the future.

3. Meme Culture:
This was an important part of the discussion and Elon agreed because he is quoted as "those who control the memes control the universe". Memes are a complec form of communication. If a picture says a 1000 words, memes say about 10,000.

4. Educating Kids: He shared that most of his kids' education is from Reddit and You Tube. He said the best way to educate kids is to focus on "why of things".

5. #Bitcoin : a lot of people were waiting for this one. He said he should have bought 8 year ago but that even though he is late to the party, he is a supporter of Bitcoin. He also mentioned he is aware he has to be careful what he says since those can really move the market.

6. Future of Tesla: According to Elon, Tesla intends to make around 20 million cars/trucks a year. He believes that self-driving makes any car way more useful.

7. On how Billionaires live:

Turns out pretty regular with is a lot of chores. He did say there's a lot of context switching between all the things he is involved in. He has back to back meeting and doesn't recommend.

8. On sleeping on the floor in factories. He says he still does but only when there is a crisis solution. He believes that when people are being asked to work really hard and they see him seeing on the floor, they reason that if he can take this much pain, then they can too.

9. On side hustles: He says if he had an extra 5 hours, he will work on tunneling (which he tried to do with The Boring Company) and also the digitization of medicine.

10. On Vaccine Distribution: He says he doesn't have good insight on the situation but there seems to be too many requirements on who can get it. Left to him, he would just have it on "first come, first serve" basis.

After this, there was some light conversation on what he thinks of California and what he is currently watching on TV. Okay, we know you want to know . He mentioned he has just finished watching The Last Kingdom and Cobra Kai. We are big fans too!

Now this is where it got even more interesting. He was asked if he had any final thoughts and he asked if folks wanted to hear the real story from Vlad (founder of @RobinhoodApp on what happened with Robinhood and GameStop -- of course!!!! Vlad comes on stage.

Now, if you do not know the background on what happened with GameStop and RobinHood - the biggest news last week, whew! we can't help there. The story is too long.

11. On RobinHood Gate: Vlad said they had an unprecedented trading volume as the "meme stocks" were going viral on Twitter. So the good people at the NSCC (National Securities Clearing Corporation) reach out with a $3b ask because of the volatility the trading volume was causing.

Thankfully, the deposit required ended being lowered to $700. Whew! Vlad said that there was a rumor they were pressured by Citadel but that it is false. It was simply a clearing house decision based on capital requirements.
