Remember when Llorente started against Roma in the UCL and we were all shocked? And how incredibly well he performed? We all thought it would be the start of something new. Then he scored a goal in the clubs WC and we were sure that we have a legend on our hands.
Then Zapoleon Zidanparte came along and that dream was destroyed. Not only that, but he was sold to one of our rivals to become one of their best players.
Do you remember this game? I will never forgive Zidane for letting Reguilon go because of this game. We had a fucking fighter. We had a future captain. We had a fucking baller and a true successor to Marcelo. But nah. The French visionary could not let that happen.
This is what we’re lacking now. This is what we’re missing. Fucking passion and immense love for the badge. True Madridistas who don’t only love the club, but would fucking die for it. Players who give their hearts and souls on the pitch no matter the circumstances.
Solari may not have been the best manager, but he knew those who deserve to be given a chance and those who should work on themselves. He had no favorites; he only played those who deserve to play. Those who’d kill themselves on the pitch for the love of the badge.
Those who deserved to go, stayed. And those who deserved to stay, went.
Vinicius’ regression is on Zidane. Player at this age need guidance. They need confidence. They need to be told what to do and not to do. Zidane doesn’t do that. He treats every player like an experienced 30 year old who’s supposed to know exactly what he’s saying.
Yes, Vinicius needs to and should work on himself. But without the confidence your manager is supposed to give you, working on yourself will always feel pointless.
I don’t care who you want to blame for our current situation, but to say Zidane should stay or not hold him accountable for our results is absolutely absurd. He failed the players. He failed the project. He’s stubborn and tactically bankrupt. His 3peat won’t save us.
To those of you saying that Perez was the one who sold them not Zidane, the manager controls who plays and who doesn’t. When Marcos knew he wasn’t in Zidane’s plans, he asked to leave. Zidane wanted Regu out and brought in Mendy. Perez simply made that happen.
Think about it, was Jovic and Ødegaard going on loan Perez’s idea? No. They wanted to leave because Zidane wasn’t counting on them. Therefore, they asked to leave, and again, Perez simply made their wishes come true.
Blame Perez all you want. I’m done.
