Your rainbow flag is meaningless when you host ppl like S*lina T*dd or have the VC spouting off about homophobic bigotry's place in the classroom etc etc

Honestly might start an active campaign to get colleges to stop flying the flag........ it’s meaningless babies !! Put it away !! No one is made safe at this university which continually enables transphobia and homophobia by the raising of a poxy flag ! It’s boring !
(Personally not saying I support the institution of SS marriage in the Cayman Islands......not my fight........but, president of Magd, let’s be real about the message sent to queer students at oxford!)
Anecdotally, many years ago, I once upon a time campaigned for the flag to fly at Somerville. I stopped caring when I was met with ‘but what if an alumna dies? It would be incredibly disrespectful’ whereupon I learnt the flag was just optics. No one cares.
(((Would also like to remind everyone that whilst I’m talking about lgbtq history month and the flag as meaningless....... I have never seen any college even so much as mention black history month..... who’s shook!)))

Student campaigners have worked tirelessly for colleges to recognise that their students want to feel supported and at home and the flag is part of that...that it always turns into long, difficult, tiresome and even humiliating campaigning is, frankly, a mockery!
