Heroism is about dignity
A CALL FOR YOU!

1. A life of dignity and self-worth for centuries eluded many an #African. We were punished every day, by what was required of us, reminded that we were not human enough, not smart enough, that we could never be enough to do it ourselves
2. For any group, long exposure to certain stimulus and responses can scientifically have deep impact on behavior.
As a result of centuries of conditioning, it almost became innate that we felt inferior, undignified, less demanding of respect, almost unworthy even to ourselves...
3. But the human spirit is immortal, and so is a people's collective identity. Though chained, within us flowed the blood of warriors, who had seen glorious days. While we were told to kneel, crushed to pieces, voices within demanded we raise our heads, this was the price
4. The calls of these olden days that run in our veins caused us agitation and like possessed, sacrifices were made without measure. The question became "what MUST I do to regain my dignity" never "What SHALL be the Consequences my actions". Inaction was discarded with resolve!
5. Many, young and old throughout our history, #Rwandan and #African, have answered this call to dignity, a call from heroes of centuries departed. Drunk from the wells of warrior spirits of our ancestry, driven by our pride and self-worth, we have charged for our birthright.
6. But the call still rings; they remind us that we have only just began! Undoing centuries of wrong, some imprimited like institct in our limbic system, requires consistent warriors, whose measure of the battle is not how long it lasts but how lasting it impacts.
7. A call from our #Heroes of the old rings. Will you answer? There are battles to fight and wars to win, first within and then without, are you ready? Our kind has known victory, we have known triumph! The call is yours, unshackle to join the higher grounds!
Happy #heroesday
