The Tamar tidal regime is more controlled by the constriction lower down the estuary, Batman Neck. Scuttling old vessels in the secondary channel adjacent Tamar Island - increasing flow and thus scouring the main channel to keep the vessels moving - was pretty successful ...2/n

As @MonteBovill says, there are $millions worth of other silt reduction actions which altered the estuary hydrology. Hard to pick the effects of each of these on water levels, especially since there are few tide gauge records and pesky errors in the historical survey datums ..3/n
