Drama-queening is most definitely NOT an answer. @AlexBerenson is a liar, who weirdly has taken it upon himself to become an apologist for a virus. Imagine saying this for polio, or smallpox (reminder: the milder form of smallpox had an IFR lower than #COVID19. So too has polio). https://twitter.com/AlexBerenson/status/1356054954767769601
1/ Simply untrue. In 1916, many US schools were closed because polio. See history of closures, lockdowns & quarantines in the USA, e.g. yellow-fever, cholera. Or enforced isolation (typhoid, leprosy etc). But most of all, you support an anti-face-mask nut? https://twitter.com/bethanyshondark/status/1356092967090532353
2/ What rly gets to me, @bethanyshondark, is it IS possible to make a principled position on keeping schools open w/ *adequate* safeguards (tho I disagree), but you go all in supporting an unprincipled nut who's also against face-masks & vaccinations? wtf? https://twitter.com/bethanyshondark/status/1356092967090532353
3/ Oh give me a break, don't try this bull with me, son. Alex Berenson sanctimoniously says we have to "live" with the virus, (a pity about the over 350,000 who died), and claims, absolutely stupidly, vaccines don't work. The man is a shill for a virus. https://twitter.com/Ed_Realist/status/1356097270844846081
4/ LOL, you lot refuse to give me a break.
Berenson bloviates: "Masks aren't the answer. ... early Israeli data suggest vaccines won't be either. (Just as they aren't for the flu.)" He also previously tweeted much twaddle on the COVID vaccines.
So, bull. https://twitter.com/COtacitus/status/1356099406303428609
Interesting verbal history note here. Polio, schools closures https://twitter.com/KEBrightbill/status/1356159455734484994
Addition to the note on polio history. I was once in a school that got closed down for the Black Death, quite true, but all it meant for me (I was v young) was we kids all got daily inspected for fevers or buboes, for a month. https://twitter.com/KEBrightbill/status/1356162152655159296
