I really super duper wish I could go see a movie in theaters
Some of my most cherished memories of theatre-going aren’t even all the memories of seeing my favorite movies. Here are some that come to mind:
The Hunger Games (2012): I was 13 and this was the most un ironically excited I’ve ever been
Inside Llewyn Davis (2013): I enjoyed having opinions about this movie

Boyhood (2014): absolutely floored
Aloha (2015): absolutely baffled
Ted 2 (2015): pleased to report that I did not see this and theaters and have never seen it, but I definitely saw the trailer before every other movie I saw this year

The Force Awakens (2015): saw opening night at like 7, and then my dad and sister and I saw it again immediately after at 10
Everybody Wants Some (2016): @austin_letson and I drove to see this in Greenville but we got the date wrong and it actually wasn’t out until the following week so we saw Batman v. Superman instead and left early bc it was a school night. It was good when we did finally see it
Love the Coopers (2015): went to this because for reasons that will go unnamed I was devastated and I didn’t want to go home and I heavily sobbed through the entire movie in a theatre that had like three other people in it. Theaters are (were) GREAT for sobbing
Passengers (2016): I had fun having opinions about this movie
Dunkirk (2017): saw this at Leicester Square in 70mm, just as Christopher Nolan intended

mother! (2017): I laughed through the first third of this movie and my friends thought I was a psychopath
I, Tonya (2017): I had fun having opinions about this movie
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse (2018): absolutely floored

Finally, Birds of Prey (2020) and Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) were the last two movies I saw in theaters
Almost forgot Get Out (2017) which was the movie I’m most glad a saw in a sold out theatre and American Hustle (2013) which was the movie after which I overheard the most amazing comments from ladies waiting in line for the bathroom. They had some THOUGHTS
