The "cruelty is the point" crowd are a cautionary tale to me. Attributing malice to your opponent over acknowledging the reality that they are simply vessels for ideology-- this framing disconnects you from people around you. at least for me. It makes me hate people. (1/)
when some shitlib says a predictably misanthropic thing it takes more strength than I feel like I have to remember that they did not come up with these ideas whole cloth. Obviously not just libs either. Everybody. Myself included. (2/)
Politics is a hall of mirrors of bullshit- it might as well be a competition between Superhero brands. So why the fuck am I going to hate someone because they are overidentifying with Superman Vs. Batman fandom. It's tragic. They are victims. But that empathy is so fucking hard.
i shouldn't hate people for this shit. but we are in this moment where political violence is mainstreamed for the normies. Corporate media has turned people I know and love into fucking demon people. I hate it so much, and I hate that I hate them.
and, no, political violence is not ultimately bad in all of it's forms. But it's not something that Apolitical normies should concern themselves with. ESPECIALLY when that violence is directed toward your white trash neighbor instead of the people actually fucking you both
Listening to people around me just say the most detestable, anti-human, cruel shit is really fucking with me bad. I would normally take a break from twitter because of this, but it isn't even fucking twitter.
