So, I have been stressed since yesterday. I'm going to post this because I think it's important. My Covid app sometimes doesn't send me notifications. Usually it does to say it's checking for exposures. But sometimes it needs to be updated and until it is, it won't notify me.
I've been trying to stay on top of checking if it needs to be updated. I've made sure my notification settings are on and notifications are allowed. I was telling a friend about the problems I've been having because I think more people should know to keep on top of it.
Anyway, I went to check it while I was talking to her, and I saw this, and my heart dropped. That was two days before and I hadn't gotten a notification. If I hadn't checked, I would never have known and just assumed my app was working fine.
Obviously I scrambled and panicked and arranged a test for this morning which wasn't pleasant but was very necessary. I have been feeling sick to my stomach all day, worried that I'd exposed my family unknowingly.
I just got my results back, and they're negative, thank god. But it just goes to show, you can't be too careful.
I've been wearing a mask and washing my hands and using sanitizer and social distancing which obviously works, but the risk is always there.i
If you have the covid Alert app PLEASE remember to check it regularly and make sure it is updated and if you haven't received a notification in a while check it.
