To all POC creatives trying to get into the industry: learn how to edit videos! Are you the funny person in your friend group? Channel that humor into video editing! Learn motion graphics!
It's difficult to get hired somewhere if you have a very small following and you're only trying to get hired as a host. So many people are able to get on camera by way of showcasing you're a kick ass editor/motion graphics animator or if you have a good sense of what's funny.
Not everyone has the money to subscribe to the Adobe Suite, so immediately some people can feel priced out and discouraged to pursue learning a new skill.
I want this thread to be a place where other creatives can drop recommendations for affordable software alternatives, editing tutorials, or anything else that might be able to help out someone in need
