2-Some intellectuals in the West romanticize the Islamic Revolution and allege that it empowered conservative and rural women by enabling them to go to universities thanks to their hijab. This is a very simplistic way of thinking that removes the agency of women.
3-As you can see, my family used to wear loose-fitting hijab before the revolution. After the revolution, they turned into this. In my village, veiled & unveiled women used to walk hand-in-hand. But the Islamic Republic provoked veiled women against unveiled women.
4-Those who allege that thanks to hijab traditional families sent their daughters to university seriously miss the point. Rather than hijab, it was changing times, technology, and greater awareness that gave rise to this change.
5-Can you believe that although more than 60% of university students in Iran are female, they're deprived of the right to choose their clothing, go to a sports stadium, sing solo, or become president? In brief, whatever they achieved is thanks to their struggles, not this regime
