I can already tell the misleading and non-scientific argument the #Egyptian negotiator Mr @MSMHelal will try to make against #GERD tomorrow.

These are all debunked nonscientific argument he has been making for long time. Here they are: https://twitter.com/TirusewAsefa/status/1355367877705158656
Argument:

Egypt has 570 m3/pcapita/yr water use and level of scarcity is defined as 1000 per capita/yr worldwide. #Ethiopia on the other hand, he argues has 7500 m3/yr/capita.

Truth:
Today Ethiopia has per capita ACTUAL use that is 4.5 times less than #Egypt at 125 m3/capita.
He is referring to a Potential that is not tapped without building a dam, for which they are fighting tooth and nail for #Ethiopia not to build any dam that consume water in the Nile basin.

Wish Ethiopia has that much water use TODAY as he claims.

How ridiculous this claim is?
How ridiculous is the claim?

The US has currently a percapita per year water use of 1333 m3.

Go figure how Ethiopia is using water or can use, i.e., 5.4 times MORE than US.

Water use in the US based on the most recent data available.

https://www.usgs.gov/special-topic/water-science-school/science/total-water-use-united-states?qt-science_center_objects=0#qt-science_center_objects
Argument:

Based on current proposal #Ethiopia is guaranteed to generate 100% electricity, 98% the time.

Truth: We crunch the numbers and according to Egyptian proposal, the chance of filling the dam is ZERO. Because it requires annual flow to be more than >70 BCM to get there.
Debunked Economic Impact of GERD on #Egypt
He and @AJENews "Scientific" “AJ Labs” conducted study which said & 5-yr #GERD filling would “destroy” 50% of #Egypt’s farmland.

Truth: Since this bogus claim #Ethiopia held 4.9 BCM and #Egypt had five times more water stored.
