The reason why I may seem so outspoken about scriptural truth is because the place that I was freed from was very much the opposite&I realised that there were many Christians under non-biblical teachings&that’s not the gospel or what we’ve been called too.
It breaks my heart when seeing it because we’re unable to walk in our full identity and live out the life we’re supposed to because we don’t know who we are. We think we need more of God and ultimately don’t believe what Christ has actually done for us; limiting ourselves.
I found some old notes from a podcast&my mouth actually dropped at what I was being taughtđŸ„ș. It’s not to bash, but for awareness. I don’t think anyones intentions is to hurt with this teaching however that doesn’t mean it’s ok. It was a lesson on how to become more spiritual.
1) Study of the word of God
1 John 1:1
⁃When you have more of the word you have more of God
⁃So the more of God you have the more of the word you have, and the more of God you have the more of the Spirit you have

After receiving Christ he dwells within us, ALL OF HIM.
I’m not disregarding reading your bible this thread is to even encourage you to go and read for yourself. However, reading the bible builds your knowledge and understanding of what you’ve been given ALREADY and who you NOW are because you solely believed...
It’s to teach you who Christ was His journey and why everything happened the way it did. To reveal Gods nature through CHRIST. It’s there to edify us.

Reading the bible, however, does NOT give you MORE of Holy Spirit as you received all of Him upon salvation đŸ€
2) Speaking in tongues

⁃If you’re trying to become a pastor pray for 3 hours in tongues
⁃Normal members pray for 1 hour

These things here not biblical but 1 has been taken from a book pulled out of context to decide that only ‘normal’ people pray in tongues for 1 hour.
My point is please, please, please make sure that whatever you’re taught, no matter how small or big it may seem, make sure it aligns with the bible itself. If you don’t believe it does, kindly ask why.

Ultimately trust God on what and where he calls you to.

He’s got you.
