Firstly, I want to start off by saying that Black History Month is something that should be celebrated all year round. Black Lives matter is the largest civil rights movement in history. Black history is now. So be on the right side of it.
1. Take action - Black history is now! Be on the right side of it. Donate, invest into our communities, sign petitions and continue to fight for the movement. Continue to uplift and amplify Black voices!
2. Diversify your reading - Dedicate your reading this month to celebrating Black authors. Reading non-fiction or fiction books by Black authors is a great way to recognise Black History month if you are stuck indoors.
3. Movie night - With your friends and/or family, you can host a Zoom movie night and then afterwards you can have a discussion on the film or the host could prepare a quiz on the movie, to see who was paying attention. You could do this once a week throughout the month.
4. Diversify your watchlist - Dedicate films and tv shows to Black History Month. It doesn’t have to be something educational, It can be something just for fun as long as it's relevant to BHM.

5. Quiz night - Just like the movie night you could also host a quiz night once a week throughout the month. Each week could be a different theme ie. music, sport, actors/actress, comedy. Make it fun and educational! learn something new along the way.
6. Bring in speakers - If you are wanting to make Black History Month more interesting for your class or in the workplace then bring in influential authors or activists to speak to your class/employees about race relations, civil rights or other race-related topics.
7. Book club - organise a book club with your friend's/work colleagues etc. Choose a book which is relatively short and Read a few chapters every week, and then go over what you have learnt once a week at your BC meeting.

8. Support Black-owned businesses - support Black-owned businesses all year round but make it a focus this month. Buying candles, clothes, art?? Buy it from a Black-owned business! This is a great way to give back to the community and uplift their business.
9. Reflect - How can you continue these actions throughout the rest of the year. How can you become a better White Ally for the Black community? Black history should be celebrated all year round, keep it up, this is just the beginning!
