a thread on why you should stop using the word manifesting, please read.

this thread will mainly be from a hindu's perspective. i am very well aware that other faiths and religions use the term manifestation and it is well important to them as too, and it's important to understand how the term became whitewashed for western media.

first of all, it has to be clear that manifestation is very important in many faiths. in hindusim, the concepts of manifestation, meditation and law of attraction are important. however, these words have become whitewashed for the western words and are basically treated as jokes

hinduism is a very complex religion, and there are so many misunderstandings spread about them- especially in the western world that we live in.

the concept of manifestation is actually extremely important to hindus and the term shouldn't just be thrown around loosely, but western media has basically made it a joke- as of the whole hindu religion.

basically, it's not a joke, don't just throw the word around like "manifesting jungkook live " or wtver because you're just contributing to the white washed version on what manifestation and hinduism is and i wont tolerate my religion to be seen as a joke.

also, if you believe in another faith that also believes and practices manifestation, because ik there's a ton of them, please feel free to add on how important it is for you, and i'll add it to this thread!

also added on, stop using the word karma as a joke like "omg karma gonna get u bestie" like stop PLEASE karma is actually another thing important in hinduism and has been whitewashed for the media and its so fucking annoying. if ur gonna appropriate a word, at least do it in

the correct context . my religion is not a joke but the western media has basically made it a joke and ik me and some of my other mutuals r so tired of this

pls rt this theead to spread if u can i see these terms being misused so much and its so tiring at this point. yoga, karma, manifestation, etc like these things have been made into a joke bc of the white washing especially on stan twt and im so tired

if it wasnt clear, the word manifestation shouldn't be used as like a twitter lingo like nothing like "manifesting a shuhua pc" , that contributes to the misuse of the word and it's meaning to the many people who follow it religiously and strongly believe in it.

saying i'm doing this for clout when this has actually bothered me and multiple of my mutuals so many times... i even asked multiple of them to proofread and get their opinion before i finally tweeted this. don't say i'm doing this for clout.

for ppl saying, "it's an eng word! dont gatekeep a word!" okay then, the word manifestation-the act of manifesting, relates to these definitions. the problem is, people are using the word in the western media depiction of how manifestation is from faiths that use it spiritually.

i should've clarified that i meant in the case of using it like "manifesting ________" like how people r using it on twt 24/7, and not how it is in the english dictionary- but god please dont misgender me and call me a clout chaser, bc this has bothered me and many of my mutuals.
