The current state of discourse: flyby "block & snipe" attacks for trying to argue that sex isn't a social construct to people who themselves can't differentiate between sex and gender or separate the reality of reproductive burden from social expectations.

I am not quite gender critical, but I *am* Beauvoirian. I very much believe that reproductive reality is at the heart of why patriarchy emerged, and that talk about patriarchy is just so much empty virtue signaling without an analysis of where it comes from and what it is. /2
Simone de Beauvoir is not right wing. Shulamith Firestone is not right wing. Discussing reproductive burden and who it affects is not right wing. Taking it seriously and attempting to mitigate it as much as possible is not right wing. This is why contraception exists. /3
Do you want to know what is right wing? Pretending reproductive burden is not real, or is not serious, or is a state of mind that may or may not exist depending on the culture in question. Your approach is chillingly close to what I sometimes hear from conservative Catholics. /4
A physical condition that can destroy your body or kill you is not a social construct. It is not a state of mind. It's not a concern only because our culture says it is. Living with the realities attached to that is not something arbitrary. Don't pretend it doesn't matter. /5
