In his rookie campaign, Davis finished as the WR56 on the season
Davis turned 62 targets into 35 receptions, 559 yards and 7 touchdowns
He finished as the WR3 in aDot, but was near the bottom of YAC, T% & R%
Yet despite modest numbers, people are still betting on Davis in 2021

So, what is the path forward for Davis?
In 2020 despite beginning the season behind Diggs, Brown and Beasley, Davis developed great chemistry with Josh Allen in the redzone
Davis finished with 7 TD's just 1 behind Diggs for the most on the team & he had 3 called back by penalty

Davis largest problem was competition for targets, but in 2021 John Brown is owed $9mil and holds a cap hit of only $1.5 mil if he is cut
While Brown is no lock to be cut, it is a possibility & even if he isn't cut, entering his age 31 season, Brown could be surpassed by Davis

So, what receiver mold would Davis fit?
I don't see Davis stepping into any of the 3-stat groupings because both his YAC and R% are so low.
There is one player however who was top 24 in aDot, T% and made a killing in the redone in 2020

Davis' game and story matches up eerily well with Thielen:
Thielen went undrafted in 2013, impressed in camp and has made a killing on deep balls and in the redzone
Davis has more draft capital (4th round), but came in and immediately impressed, working deep & in the redzone

Even stranger is that Diggs was traded to Buffalo after playing alongside Thielen
If Davis is given a larger share of the offense in 2021 (I believe he will) and continues to build on his redzone dominance, he can become a top 24 WR in the mold of an Adam Thielen
