Thread 1/ From what I've seen online lately, I need to debunk some BS about Authoritarianism & its four yucky "flavors"...
Authoritarianism is the umbrella term that covers four types of political "governance". I put governance in quote marks for a good reason: Authoritarians
2/ never "govern"; they rule, usually with an iron fist. The four types of Authoritarianism:
Totalitarianism;
Feudalism;
Communism;
Fascism...
Totalitarianism is the oldest, a little more than two millennia old; Feudalism is about two centuries younger than Totalitarianism;
3/ Communism was essentially founded in 1850, but by "Straw Manning" the words of Karl Marx, which is why Marx is considered the Father of Communism (he was horrified that his words had been Straw Manned by Authoritarians) and that Communism is sometimes referred to by the term
4/ "Marxism". Fascism is the "young pup" of Authoritarianism, having been established by practice in 1917 and, two years later, receiving its name on the streets of Italy as the Italian word "Fascimo".
During my extensive study/research of government/politics, it took me a while
5/ to unravel the "mystery" of "Antifa", the anti-Fascists. What I discovered is that the Antifa movement began in 1917 in Russia with the Bolshevik Revolution. That movement didn't get its name until after Fascism got its name. Here's what happened back then: at the start of the
6/ Revolution, a group of people who'd become known as Fascists two years later overthrew Russia's Totalitarian Tsar, Nicholas II. The Communists were not happy to be under Fascist governance, which is why, a year later, they overthrew the as yet unnamed Fascists and established
7/ the badly named "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics", USSR. Even the name is Authoritarian propaganda/punditry based on logical fallacies, BS and lies; the country was a Communist regime, not Socialist nor a Republic.
The Bolshevik Revolution launched something else that
8/ still exists today: the Authoritarian Civil War between the Communists and Fascists. What you first must understand about the two youngest factions of Authoritarianism is that, while they mostly agree with Authoritarianism as a general principle, there are two of the "PoAs",
9/ Principles of Authoritarianism, where the Communists disagree with the other three "flavors": religion and government intertwined and avid militarism. While the other three have no problem with intertwining religion and government (something that can't legally happen here due
10/ to the first half of the First Amendment) and adhering to avid militarism, the Communists have generally been militantly atheistic (which is why the Fascists call them "Godless Communists") and have wanted to have the smallest military possible to protect its borders.
11/ Communists have relied on a different PoA, Stochastic/Domestic Terrorism Employed, via non-military members, to keep control.
The Authoritarian Civil War reached this country in the 1950's with the "Red Scare", where Fascist @GOP ers wrongly claimed that anyone and everyone
12/ who opposed their Fascism was/is a "Communist". The Communists/Antifa actually have a political party in this country, but, sadly, it threw in with the Fascist @GOP years ago, the so-called "Libertarians". If you think the Authoritarian GOP hates being correctly called
13/ Fascists, start calling the "Firebaggers" (my nickname for the Libertarians) Communists. Some of the most colorful and vitriolic IMs I've received in my time on Facebook (more than a decade) have come from the Firebaggers claiming they're not Communists.
The problem with
14/ "Antifa" is that, while they are truly anti-Fascists, they're NOT anti-Authoritarians.
If you're wondering how well the Authoritarian Civil War is going for Antifa, I can assure you that the answer is: "not good; in fact, really bad". Why do I correctly point that out?
15/ Two events that occurred within two years of one another. In 1991, the Communist USSR was disbanded and, four years later, the current Fascist Russian Federation was founded. It's still a Fascist regime now. Two years after the Fascist Russian Federation was established, the
16/ other Communist superpower in the world at the time, the "People's Republic of China", also junked Communism in favor of Fascism. The only real Communist regime left in the world right now, and even it is teetering on the brink of adopting Fascism, is Cuba.
17/ Don't be fooled by the Antifa nonsense; while they are anti-Fascists, they are NOT anti-Authoritarians; they're just Authoritarians of a different stripe. We need to let the Communist/Libertarian Antifa battle it out with the Fascist GOP and, once a "winner" is declared, deal
18/ with them. Until then, you should not trust the Fascist @GOP OR the Communist/Antifa Libertarians/Firebaggers. It's not a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"-type situation; they're both mortal enemies of democracy. Don't trust either group.
