#ncyt #alnov

#novacyt has a great capacity in identifying the needs of the market.

Many tests developped this year respond to precise needs

And there are many more to Come this year

- History
- promate & its future
- rt-lamp
- LFT
- sequencing and variants

Thread 1/17 ⤵️
Little History.

- covid-HT was specificly developped for the AZN lighthouse lab in Cambridge

- Winterplex was one of the first of his kind, developped to answer the needs of NHS

2/n
- exsig direct direct to symplify the workflow of the PCR

- mink strain test : theyre the first ones, again, for this test, who could have had a sognificant importance if this strain had spread

3/n
- Bird flu test : a welcomed surprise, but highly important with the outbreaks occuring in France, UK, and other UE contries

And that's just a part of the developped tests in 2020

It is clear ncyt knows what the market needs, and react quiclky with the R&D team

Now, they've created PROmate, wich is just an Amazing test !

Rapid, secure, accurate,...

Already validated by TVG when 84 other tests have failed.

5/n https://twitter.com/DopeinkInvest/status/1351997836066492416?s=19
But PROmate is also a New workflow, wich could be adjusted for many infectious diseases. Aids, Ebola, etc.

Having Quick and most importantly secure pcr for all kind of diseases would be some breakthrough !

6/n
Knowing theyre able to create it for covid should indicate us its only a Matter of Time for the rest of the catalogue.

This is something i would call a game changer !

I have no doubts, promate will be very appreciated by nhs staff, and phase2 IS a Matter of Time too.

7/n
Promate is just a part of whats coming soon.

The rt-lamp is coming too.
In medical settings, or else, this will be a great add to the portfolio.
Having accurate results in ~20min, would simplify the work in urgency settings, airports, dental services and much more.

8/n
The antibody LFT is arriving too.

Why now ? Because the needs of the market for such a product are just beginning. It is with the vaccine rollout that this test have all his meaning.
Just look At the incoming tenders in UK !

#ncyt #alnov #novacyt

We have something unknown incoming : VariPLEX

Having a PCR able to precisely identify wich variant you're infected with has many advantages

Maybe VariPLEX is something else, but a test for variants is imho definitly coming

10/17 ⤵️
First example : It is a needed test :

A study is telling us :
"To contain and study this [UK] variant, it is necessary to develop a specific molecular test to uniquely identify it"

11/n
Second example : sequencing is long :

Sequencing in canada :
To find if you have a variant, until know you need to do sequencing.
Duration : 3 to 4 days !

Canada is also asking for New assays to rapidly identify a variant.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/labs-fast-track-tests-covid-mutations-1.5883144
12/n
Third example : the costs of sequencing.

UKcog has a Big sequencing capability.
But even with this, just the reagents cost between 20 and 40£
(Add to this infrastructure,staff, instruments)

https://www.cogconsortium.uk/news_item/reflections-on-the-achievements-of-cog-uk/

13/n
A french lab Director in France is also indicating the approximative cost of one sequencing : 220€

https://www.industrie-techno.com/article/comment-detecter-la-dissemination-du-variant-anglais-sur-le-sol-francais.63624

14/n
Last example :

Sequencing is an expensive tool that all the countrys doesnt have.

https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Coronavirus/COVID-variant-first-detected-in-South-Africa-identified-in-Britain

15/n
To recap :

- sequencing is expensive & Time consuming
- not all countries have the money and the infrastructures for sequencing
- countries are asking for New tests detecting speficly the variants

Having a test that gives you an answer in a few hours is game changing

16/n
#ncyt has now a well build foundation
#novacyt keeps innovating needed products

#alnov has a great future in front of them, and as GM told us, this is just the beginning

They are working hard, and the results are easy to see

A well deserved Bravo to @PrimerdesignLtd
