I don’t ever see myself posting “sexy” things w/my name attached because I am aware of the BS teachings that are deeply rooted within me (plus my chosen career path makes that an absolutely not), but I know enough to not project those teaching onto other women.

I recognized the ridiculousness of “modesty” and all other teachings designed to control women several years ago. While I have not (yet) been unable to uproot it within myself, I’ve worked REALLY hard to not push that shit on other women.

To argue that modesty is “chosen” ignores that our entire lives have typically been conditioned to “prefer” modesty &even find shame in our bodies. Women who refuse to at least acknowledge that will always hide their misogyny behind a “preference.” Your preference is status quo.

Modesty is the standard. No matter how much you try to say the world has “changed,” women who reject modesty are attacked, berated, and dehumanized. I argue that other women attack them the most out of fear that the world *will* actually change...

Because if you’ve built your entire sense of self-worth around being a better woman because you’re modesty and “wholesome,” what will you be worth when there aren’t other women below you in the hierarchy?

It’s *still* about pleasing fucking men.

If you went all in on patriarchy, of course you don’t want it to change. If you feel like you’ve learned how to “beat” it, how to make it work to your advantage, surely you don’t want free women to rock that boat.

Women who find their power in being a wife, in their proximity to men will spend hours upon hours calling themselves special and victims of these “whores” because what happens when the world no longer see them as the standard? What happens when the “whores” win?

Anyway, I’m just tired of women not wanting to interrogate why they keep doing the same shit. FFS, choose to embrace every woman’s freedom to live, &stop playing victim like you doing what you were always told to do is revolutionary or scary. You know the world protects you.

It will always “protect” modesty and patriarchy.
