There are *many* differences. May I highlight just a few in particular?

I almost never block anyone over *ideas*. If someone exhibits horrible ideas but is interpersonally not behaving strategically, I am inclined to listen. >90% of my blocks come from people targeting people. https://twitter.com/jp_fielding/status/1355896871756193793
Most of the interpersonal games that I use blocks to stop involve accounts trying to make reasonable people seem ugly & aberrant or which derail, muddle or redirect the point of a conversation I want to have.
If I could use your bad technique to “win” with a wrong point, I block.
Here is a collection of ‘internet words’ that can get you treated like a bot: moron, galaxy brain, clown, owned, pawned, lol, not a good look, bruh, bro, fart huffing, idiot, whinny, tin foil hat. dragged, [popcorn], have fun w X, HaHa, etc. You see this crap everywhere on line.
Also Twitter is an intelligence company. They know way more about us. They build the tools. I live in their world & they do not live in mine. This is their coliseum. They throw me “block” & “mute” as my main weapons against the prides of lions to battle. I would prefer others.
But the bottom line is that I am all about the lone earnest individual against the odds fighting for something good that institutions want stopped or against something bad that institutions want to keep going. And they use personal destruction of dissenter as their main defense.
If a strategy firm can be hired to take down a prominent reasonable person making contrarian points using a technique, I may block that technique on principle without knowing what or who is behind it.

In short I want to listen to new good ideas & have to block what stops that.
Twitter is often more focused on ideas. If you use Bruce Jenner to discuss Caitlin Jenner’s former Olympic medal winning performance, is that deadnaming? I would never ban that, Caitlin didn’t exist then. Twitter targets ideas like that. That’s thought control, not safety/health.
I wouldn’t block someone who said they didn’t know about vaccine safety or climate science or the Wuhan Lab leak theories or election integrity. That’s thought control at a different level. I’m interested in sane minority & dissident viewpoints. They seem to want to chill them.🙏
