#BOYCOTTPUBLIX is long overdue and honestly, I need to step up my game. I might lose friends with people I worked with but oh well. The truth is the truth. Let's talk about Publix Super Market on this here thread. They are the largest private employer in #Florida.

It is no secret that @Publix is conservative in their values, I mean, they donated to Gov DeSantis until it brought protest. They also loudly supported gun slingin' Adam Putnam's candidacy. Putnam is the now former Commissioner of Agriculture, which audits companies like Publix.

#BOYCOTTPUBLIX I started with @Publix in 2005 making $6.65 an hour as a front service clerk (bagger). I left the company in 2014. I left making $11.65 after nine years of employment. Part of it came from min. wage increases in the state of Florida, not pay raises.
Btw I was a "Customer Service Team Leader" at one point, the highest non-manager role in the CS department and I was making $11.65 an hour. I had to moonlight at Circle K to pay my rent. Full-time. Supervisor. #BOYCOTTPUBLIX
As you may know, @Publix settled a shameful EEOC complaint in 1997 which caused them to reform their selection processes. They created a ROI (Registration of Interest) process for those interested in mgmt or positions leading to mgmt. It's not a bad practice to do this, but...
an ROI process means nothing because you have to be full-time x number of months to become a manager. And there is no ROI to become a manager. You just have to ask. Well, guess what...
@Publix operates on the good ol' boy mentality, so you have to do a lot of smooching of behinds and be favored by your Store Manager to get full-time status. Thus, you are STILL locked out of management roles.
When I was a CSTL at Publix Store 1088, my then manager told me that my district manager is less likely to consider me because I'm too open. "He likes family men," she told me. That meant cis hetero straight men with wives & kids. She was just being honest. @Publix
There ARE gay managers, but it's not common and I can only imagine how much they had to hide before they got there. #BOYCOTTPUBLIX
when I was a CSTL, we had this Cashier who was annoying. She was. But my Store Manager loved to talk shit about her on the floor to us. The day came where the Cashier finally broke the attendance policy & was eligible for termination, my SM danced and sang about it...
@Publix Store Mgr was SOOO happy to terminate someone. She let us all know this. This is the caliber of managers they have. Btw, Corporate overturned the termination bc she didn't ensure the associate knew/was aware of the store's attendance policy. #BOYCOTTPUBLIX
@Publix has ppl convinced it's a great place 2 work. I was addicted to the sweet tea as well. I thought there was NO BETTER PLACE. They staunchly oppose unions and mgrs will let you know that but they still within the line of the NLRB (I think(.

#BOYCOTTPUBLIX @Publix has you believe they are a family company. You have 2 choices if you have a family. Work in an hourly role and starve with your family OR be a manager and work 50-60 hours and never see them.
@Publix has the power to support @ciw but does not. Not surprising though, if they'll starve their own employees, why would they care about anyone else?
Many wonderful ppl work at @Publix including mgrs. We all have to work. But as the largest employer of Floridians in the private sector, Publix needs to step up. The voters elected a higher min wage but rest assured @Publix is lobbying against it & trying to find a way...
to screw over it's associates as the wages increase. Remember how they resisted masks? I heard an associate tell me that a Store Mgr was worried how customers would feel about it.
