1) Yet more vile social media abuse and yet more of the same frustrations. Some abusers seem to thrive behind a cloak of anonymity and lack of any meaningful consequences to their real lives.
1) Yet more vile social media abuse and yet more of the same frustrations. Some abusers seem to thrive behind a cloak of anonymity and lack of any meaningful consequences to their real lives.
2) A fundamental issue remains the WHY. What turns people into these vile abusers? What is going on in their world that leads them to post hate? How is that being addressed? I struggle to articulate a simple solution to this deep-rooted problem.
3) Regardless of motive, there should be a mechanism to easily identify those individuals. If you’ve got nothing to hide, should you be worried? Is verification, via the appropriate channels, really a breach of your privacy?
4) Could owning a social media account be similar to, for example, a driving licence? If you want one, you submit your details to the DVLA for a named account. There’s direct accountability and Gov’t holds your data, rather than a private company. If not Gov’t, who?
5) Many users would probably think twice if they met their high-profile targets in person. It’s the anonymity - and perceived lack of any impact to their real life - that still appears to be a core issue. Verification and accountability would be a start. ENDS
