Israel vaccine update: Of 668,100 over-60s who had their second Pfizer jab more than a week ago, 473 have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 38 are hospitalised, 14 are considered 'serious' and 2 have died.
For comparison, among ALL over-60s in the last week, 3,835 tested positive for the virus, some 0.25% of the total population of over-60s.
Comparing the fully vaccinated (ie 7 days past 2nd dose) over-60s with the non-fully-vaccinated over-60s, there's an 83% decrease in observed cases of Covid-19.
NB: The "not fully vaccinated" group includes a lot of people who have had at least one dose. It isn't a group of completely unvaccinated people, though it does include them too.
Among under-60s, a similar pattern. 226 confirmed cases from 325,301 under-60s who are 7 days post vaccine (0.07%). This compares 41,760 cases among the unvaccinated under-60s (0.57%). The under-60s data has a lot more confounders due to the large number of kids, though.
Included for policy planners: a breakdown of Covid-19 cases among vaccinated people in Israel. Original Health Ministry slide and my English retyping for clarity.

**INTERPRET THESE NUMBERS CAUTIOUSLY**. In particular, remember date of diagnosis is not date of infection.
From these numbers, the Pfizer vaccine appears to be very successful preventing new cases and serious illness. Highly likely that it's also cutting asymptomatic cases and therefore viral spread, too.
