Message for task force @StephenCowan @Gareth_Roberts_ @CharlotteV. My proposals to get things moving. At the very least I would expect @Gareth_Roberts_ to indulge these going forward as our representative
1. If @StephenCowan has no intention at all of funding. Please put that along with your reasons in a letter for public consumption. It will avoid stringing things along. To not do so is disingenuous
2. If the intention is @LBHF is to fund. Then submit the proposal at the meeting.
3. This is an effort to get the ball rolling something like 120:40 (govt:LBHF) should be palatable. No contribution by LBHF creates a moral hazard where all infrastructure owned and maintained by councils - have no incentive to maintain b/cause you simply put them back to govt
4. The @LBHF report on the bridge should be made public. It is the document which closed the bridge. There are no valid excuses for lack of transparency
5. Any temporary solution for pedestrians to cross the bridge should be considered forthwith. I personally as someone who used the bridge daily - have no concerns about pedestrian use. If the government believes that they should stand behind that report legally
6. The economic benefits of an open bridge are obvious to businesses on both sides, boat race revenues, wetland centre - productivity and reduced pollution in Putney, Chiswick, Mortlake. There are dangerous commutes for children and I don’t want you to hear “we told you so” !!
7. I think most residents on both sides of the river would gladly pay an etoll to cross the bridge £1-2/ each way is tolerable
