Unpopular opinion:

The confrontational attitude of Jagan against the judiciary is strategically very advantageous to Hindus in general. TDP likes to show it as a "dent to democracy" etc., because they know Hindus as a community is a bunch of fools.
Our greatest problem as Hindus is not the government or the law, it is the Judiciary that brazenly imposes unrealistic rules and obstructions in preserving our way of life.
The Judiciary is the only institution powerful enough to make completely finish off the Hindu traditions because nothing that Hindus do in a democratic framework can affect them. We can even put pressure on civil services but we *cannot* do anything about the "Judiciary".
Amid all this, Jagan's brazen attitude almost showing the proverbial finger to the Judiciary should be seen as an opportunity by the Hindus. But of course, TDP's calculation is right - we can think in terms of caste as a community but we cannot think as a Hindu collective.
But let us for a moment hypothesize that Jagan brazens it out and successfully fails in helping SEC conduct free and fair elections - he is already attempting the "reward for unanimous election" route to make the elections irrelevant. Let us say he succeeds? What happens then?
In my view, the following could be expected as outcomes of such an event:

1) Majority of those in HC/SC will have a tongue in cheek moment but they would be under the impression that we brought the government to its knees.
2) Jagan on the other hand would assume that the I have successfully overridden the Judicial override switch. He would be right in part - only because the outcome proved that executive is, in reality, supreme.
3) Smart folks wearing black gowns would see the true picture. They would realize that Jagan is here to stay while TDP is about to fizzle out. Since they have a ideological hatred towards BJP, they only have two ways out -
a) cling to the friendly batch, with similar goals, switching over to BJP

b) take a detour and align with Jagan - their assumption would be that Jagan will stay in power for at least one more term given how badly TDP is faring even in simple theatrics.
This is where Hindus have an opportunity. Since the Judiciary will remain quiet on issues that Jagan sees as favoring his political future, Hindus of AP have an opportunity to push their agenda (if at all such a thing exists) to bring some semblance of parity to their traditions.
This could be possible if Jagan is influenced through his newfound gurus to relax the state control on temples, remove the obstacles in Hindu ritual observance, protect cows.
That's the wishlist.

However, I think anyone with even the faintest of interest in current affairs in the country would know it in their gut that nothing of this sort would happen. We will remain mum and caste will remain a long pole for us.
