Here I explore and provide names to the meme trading space, plagiarizing @nope_its_lily - but framing it in terms of Dungeons and Dragons. All meme stocks need a memelord.

/ The primary statistics a memelord needs are charisma and constitution. Survivability & shareability
/ Elon Musk has very high Charisma (dates movie stars, dances, Tony Stark) as well as very high constitution (able to sleep on factory floor, and nearly go bankrupt multiple times). Heroes basically are bards playing a no re-load challenge of Baldur's Gate 2 on insane mode.
/ Donald Trump is also a memelord. He too has high constitution - seemingly endless penchant for abuse/ taking punches as well as an ability to fill stadiums of people and opine on random subjects. Important to note - just because you dislike someone doesn't mean they lack CHA
/ r/DeepFuckingValue is a memelord, unambiguously. He took horrendous losses losing life changing sums long Gamestop (high constitution). "Diamond Hands". He's a social media influencer and has an awesome headband. If he showed up at your party it'd immediately pop off.
/ Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos have enormous constitution but low charisma, and thus cannot be meme-lords. A good mental model is "What would people say in the streaming comments section of a youtube video when this person talks". If bad, low charisma. (I'm not a memelord btw)
/ Adam Neumann of WeWork has high Charisma (instantly charmed movie stars, randomly friends with heads of state) but had low constitution (he had to go surfing to destress while WeWork was in trouble). So - he basically got killed by the Valuation Goblin in the early dungeon.
/ A MemeLord can either run a company, or start a movement around a set of stocks or a concept. Unlike normal moves, these moves tend to trend far more than other market elements because they follow social media sharing patterns.
/ So as a trading heuristic. a. Chamath is a MemeLord - he's charismatic, wrecks ppl on television, and survived a knife fight with the board of his last company and won (high constitution). b. The Chamath complex is likely, therefore to trend far more than normal assets
/ In today's social media driven markets, being a memelord is definitely an advantage. But it is a double edged sword. Oftentimes, a memelord creates a narrative or "Bard Song" to reinforce his powers. The melody of this bard song buffs the stats of his entire memesphere
/ All good songs need a cohesive plot, and a refrain which gets repeated over and over again. Chamath's song is about "socially just capital". He sings about Climate Change, and empowerment and so forth. He supercharges his meme complex by randomly running for governor.
/ A Skald MemeLord is another class of Bard focused on sowing confusion in his enemies, for his own team's benefit. Most Bitcoin Maximalists are Skald Memelords. A good example would be Peter Schiff who aims to discredit all other assets to implicitly pump gold
/ Unfortunately, sometimes Bard songs break down. For example - Chamath will likely face scrutiny for his role in financing Robinhood or its affiliates. That would disrupt his song / cause discord, and when his buff wears off - stocks he's associated with like OPEN will fall
/ In the D&D game Planescape Torment (one of the best games of all time), Sigil is a City where Gods manifest out of repeated omnipresent belief. This game is filled with tropes to understand the memesphere. In Sigil, beliefs shape reality. Dying beliefs suffer
/ Chamath and the ESG movement, by incanting a meme have created the Lady of Holy Justice in Sigil, City of Memes. The idea - buying particular companies makes you morally worthy -- because they advance some kind of benefit to society. The tone is a lot like a Waltz.
/ GameStop is a new song. It's closer to an electric guitar riff. Chamath and Elon Musk have tried to latch on to that riff, but - because the riff is fundamentally populist -and based in chaos, it will displease the Lady of Holy Justice who worries about financial stability.
/ The Lady of ESG & Holy Justice now exist in our collective consciousness outside of Chamath and Elon. She has her own tropes, narratives, and fee rackets at MSCI. She wants to retain her own existence - and now -- there's a motivation to discipline her disobedient Bards
/ In D&D this is closer to the notion of "A Fallen Paladin" - a character who has lost the favor of his chosen god and therefore is a structurally impaired fighter. Memelords are held to consistency with the songs that they sing. Rhythm is important.
/ There is a real danger that Chamath will become a Fallen Paladin because he's sung a song of Chaos that contradicts the tune of the Lady of Holy Justice he has summoned. And furthermore, he may have sullied himself by financing a foe of his own song.
/ Because SPACs trade on fundamentals, Chamath becoming a Fallen Paladin would have a large and immediate de-rating effect on the entire space - which would likely invite regulatory scrutiny from the gods of No Malarkey who are already looking suspiciously at SPACs.
/ This rant has gone on too long but they key points to impart are 1) meme stocks trend and are run by memelords who have high charisma and constitution 2) memelords buff their assets with songs that summon God Memes 3) God Memes can forsake their memelords and take their power
/ Thank goodness I'm not managing external capital. Woof
