Here we go everyone.

Urgent meeting with Emergency Management. Midnight last night. Positive test result from a a male security guard. Contact tracing. Everyone needs to be cooperative and understanding.

Worked at Sheraton Four Points in City. Tested negative as late as 23rd January. 4 active cases of HQ. At least 3 were variant strains. 2 UK, 1 RSA. Guard worked on same floor as positive UK variant case. Worked on 26 & 27 January.

Develop symptoms at 28 January. Did not go to work afterwards. Potential exposure sites of positive cases. Ongoing investigation. Likely more locations will be added with further discussion.

Get tested & remain in quarantine. Close contacts will be asked to quarantine for 14 days. Man did use WA covid app when necessary. Testing capacity will increase.

The man's immediate household contacts have been contacted and isolated for 14 days at quarantine facility. All 3 tested negative. They might become positive. Genome sequencing is under away and will be known by Tuesday morning. Appears likely that this case is UK variant.

Things can change very quickly. First community transmission for 10 months. At 6pm tonight, all of Perth Metro area will go into a full 5 day lockdown.

Following measures in place:

- Stay at home except for 4 reasons (shopping for essentials, medical/healthcare needs, exercise in neighbourhood with 1 other person, 1 hour per day, work at home when possible). If you do leave home, you must mask at all times.

Perth, Peel & SW Region must stay inside except for essential reasons.

Lots of things being closed over next 5 days. Takeaway & outdoor exercise still allowed.

School has been put on hold until next week. Extension of school holidays. It appears all travel into WA will be banned...?

Return to the March & April experience. You do not need to rush to the supermarket today.
