I once got intellectually mugged by somebody claiming that I buy into white men's ideology, and why would any Black man let these white people turn me from the path of my ancestors.
Had no good answer for it, which is why I considered myself a progressive.
Then I got to reading

I grew up with an undiagnosed reading disability, on top of ADHD and other neuroatypicalities. But the upside of my disability is that I absolutely do not stop until I arrive at answers, once I'm stopped by a question.
That's why I'm not with the funny shit when it comes to the intersection between ideology and historical materialism. Turns out my ancestors understood class struggle and the dictatorship of the proletariat, embraced communal living, and fought imperialists for self-determination
Marx is not the ideological forefather of communism; Marx provided a critical analysis of capitalism in service of developing communist theory.
Communism is not the forerunner of communal social relations; I look to mbongi and Ujamaa for a communalist liberatory model

I work with Marxists bc a broad, international anti-imperialist class struggle requires a common set of values, principles, and language.
Where some people who call themselves Marxist get it twisted is the belief that any European Marxist theoretician can supersede our own history, philosophies, and values
This is settler colonial chauvinism and white supremacy scattered with fancy sounding words, and no more.

Throwing out quotes and simply telling people subordinated under settler colonialism to read a text explaining why their nations are not nations under some dead European's definition is not only chauvinism and doing the opposite of coalition-building, it's plain cowardice.
As is deliberately misrepresenting the text and the context behind its writing. Is this building bridges, or issuing edicts to people who never agreed to these theories or principles in the first place?
Nobody is interested in bullshit doctrine from a false religion.

Incredibly disappointing to see this stubborn dogmatism from @JoshuaYJackson. I don't know what that was supposed to accomplish other than alienation and self-aggrandizement.
All I know is that as a member of @Blacks4Peace, @The_Red_Nation, @compartycanada, and @iww, my responsibility is to look for clues in history and apply them to the present condition for the liberation of all oppressed peoples. And that behaviour would never be tolerated.
So I'll extend a sincere apology to my Indigenous friends, comrades, and family for that mess earlier tonight. It wasn't acceptable and he doesn't speak for any organization I know of.
And thanks for extending the grace to engage with the rest of us who pushed back.
