As of November 30th, 2020, AVP Unites is seeking Voluntary Recognition from @antiviolence and @BeverlyTillery. We are posting our correspondence thus far to inspire others committed to anti-oppression in non-profits and social services, whether they be workers or Management. T1
The next step after agreeing to voluntarily recognize us, was confirming with ED @BeverlyTillery a list of all Bargaining Unit positions. This includes temps, part-time workers, and all non-confidential, non mgmt. See our list of who should be included. #UnionStrong #LGBTQ | T3
Here was @BeverlyTillery on 12/10/2020, informing us of how committed to supporting our unionization efforts the @antiviolence board is, and how they are searching for a pro-labor atty #UnionStrong #LGBTQ | T4
A card check process is different from an NLRB election, in that a mutually agreed-upon 3rd party neutral can confirm that a union has majority support. In the case of @antiviolence, a supermajority of workers have signed cards with @153Local #UnionStrong #LGBTQ | T5
Here was @BeverlyTillery of @antiviolence on 12/18, soon before our office closed down for Winter Break. #UnionStrong #LGBTQ | T6
It's the New Year, and we're still pushing for recognition at @antiviolence. AVP Unites stands in Solidarity with non-profit workers and those dedicated to radical anti-oppression movements everywhere. #LGBTQ #UnionStrong | T7 END.
