I wanted to do a comparison of different IDP scoring settings to see how much it changes scoring within positions.
So with that, welcome to a #FFIDP thread that no one wanted or asked for...

To do this I looked at 6 different settings that are either some sort of standard, or settings in a league I play in. Here’s the 6 leagues
IDP123 is a scoring system created and popularized by @50shadesofdrunk. He’s much better at explaining it than I am.
The #IDPinvitational was a charity tournament in the mould of the SFB. Their scoring included a premium for CB’s that I didn’t include here.

The fantasypros/ESPN scoring is the closest thing to a standard (I think) than IDP123
The other three are leagues I play in.

Stats and position designations are by @pfref offensive stats not included (J. Chinn)
That means your favourite pass rush LB’s like TJ Watt are LB’s and not DL’s. This is just the way I did it. Really players like that should be DL's (ie: use true position in your leagues)

With that covered, here’s the top 24 DL scorers in each set of scoring.
It’s surprisingly uniform here. The top 12 are the same in every scoring setting

The top 24 LB scorers
The pass rushing LB’s (Watt, Reddick, Z. Smith) score much better in the leagues that score QB hits and TFLs and/or score sacks higher relative to tackles.

The top 24 DB’s
The Sweet 16 league and Auction league both score PD’s twice as high as solo tackles, so CB’s are pushed much higher up rankings.
Troy Hill had 3 touchdowns, so he was pushed up much higher in the league where tackles and other things scored the least

Finally a couple of pictures that show the average of top 24 scorers and spread of top scorers against the offensive positions.
The 2 point per solo tackle scoring settings (IDP123, IDPguys) have averages that score quite well with PPR scoring, but would be a littler over-powered if you still play standard scoring. The 1.5 solo systems are good too, the 1 point per solo league is pretty rough.
The spreads are narrower for each IDP position than they are for the offensive positions. The higher scoring systems do a little better, but this is why IDP’s don’t get picked in drafts until a bunch of offensive players get picked. Some of this is based on the cutoffs I used
Overall I don’t think scoring changes much, except with pass rushing LBs (who should just be DLs in your league anyway – go true position), and with how CBs score compared to S's.
I really like PD>tackle, because a PD is always a good play, a tackle can be anywhere.

TFLs and QB hits should get score something instead of nothing.
Safety's should be worth more than 2, because the team gets points and the ball.
If you took the time to read to the end...(why?)... Thanks?
