I’m gonna made a little thread of things to not say to an autistic person (IMO)
1. “Can you look at me?” I could for a bit, but I don’t want to and eventually I’ll forgot again that I’m supposed to, just get used to it.
2. “Stop bouncing your leg/playing with your hands” I’m gonna be very uncomfortable trying and eventually will forget again that I’m doing it
3. “You sound like you don’t care, don’t like me, a robot, etc etc” I’m sorry I’ve made you feel that way, I often don’t add tone or inflection to my voice. I try (for you) but my social energy goes into it so I might get tired of this conversation
