My husband and I are taking a local “weekend away” (hotel in a shopping area 15 miles from home) as a late anniversary trip.

Brunch at a French café. That’s a cinnamon roll made like a croissant, and it’s as amazing as it sounds. He had a Croque Madame sandwich, which is a hedonistic mixture of toasty bread, cheese, ham, and a runny-yolk egg, which is also as amazing as it sounds.
We went furniture shopping. This is the bookshelf I REALLY REALLY WANT, so I sure hope my next series pushes my income waaay up so I can afford one of these.

I’ve been trying to get a good selfie of the two of us all day and am failing, so here’s one I took before we left home yesterday. We were laughing because he was being a goober.
