My husband and I are taking a local “weekend away” (hotel in a shopping area 15 miles from home) as a late anniversary trip.

A THREAD.

Brunch at a French café. That’s a cinnamon roll made like a croissant, and it’s as amazing as it sounds. He had a Croque Madame sandwich, which is a hedonistic mixture of toasty bread, cheese, ham, and a runny-yolk egg, which is also as amazing as it sounds.

We went furniture shopping. This is the bookshelf I REALLY REALLY WANT, so I sure hope my next series pushes my income waaay up so I can afford one of these.

I mean two of these.

I needed to use the restroom at the furniture store.

This is what texting looks like after 21 years of marriage.

(We’ve had some lovely romantic times too, I swear.)

Wine in the hotel room. At 2 pm. Because vacation.

Dressed for dinner! We walked, so I decided to forego heels.
