I've watched maybe half of TOR's games so far and the overall impression I get:
With the puck they're fine.
Without the puck, kind of leaky.
My hunch is that the leakiness stems from their neutral-zone forecheck.

Leading up to TOR's second goal, their 1-2-2 NZ forecheck makes three stops vs EDM. 1st one leads to a Simmonds chance, 3rd leads to the Marner/Matthews scoring play.
This is significantly better execution than what TOR has shown earlier in the game.
The clip below doesn't look like much and leads to nothing of note, but the fact that there's little NZ FC pressure on EDM means TOR has to play in DZ coverage one more time.
