Harry Potter was the series that got me to learn how to read, and I had a lot of affection for it because of the formative role it played in my development. As I grew up, I began to realize how its writing and worldbuilding were actually fairly thin, and I felt bad about that…-R
Because it didn't feel good to pick apart and criticize something I had such a soft spot for, but I couldn't bring myself to ignore its paper-thin worldbuilding.

Suffice to say I don't have those qualms anymore. HP is a mess and I hope we've matured enough to leave it behind. -R
I'll always appreciate what those books did for me, but I am not so enamored with the series that I'm willing to overlook all the shit their creator has been doing. The books were fun when I was 10. The lives and rights of trans people are more important than my nostalgia. -R
