A few honest questions for those concerned re: how we teach our children about America’s history, particularly on the issue of racism:

- What does “love my country” mean?
- Can we equate love of country with love of family?
- If so, are we loving our family well if, ... /1
... when a systemic sin (eg, alcoholism) is ravaging it, we deny the existence of that sin, instead covering it over with an alternative, dishonest, sugar-coated fiction?
- Or do we truly love our family (or nation) well when we honestly and openly confess our sin(s), ... /2
... repent of them, and pursue reconciliation and reparation?
- How well are we as a nation doing with this “love my country” responsibility?
- How well are YOU doing with it?
- Do YOU deny that our nation has a deep & continuing problem with racism — and that it’s systemic? /3
- Are you going to continue to play the dishonest game of Denialism, and cling to a fantasized, fetishized, White-washed story of America?
- Or will you take the bold step of moral and intellectual honesty, and love your country RESPONSIBLY?

Food for thought and prayer...
