Point related to a @Adam_Mares tweet: As I've gotten older, my sports fandom patience with bad ownership is now approximately zero. I want to be entertained and have ownership at least pretend to care/compete. Otherwise, hard pass. What the Rockies are doing is disgraceful...
Taking advantage of a fanbase that likes going to Coors, has a lot of pride about its city, and literally grew up with the franchise. And ownership/mgmt is now taking a gigantic dump on those fans, without even pretending they're not. So screw them. Don't give them your time/$
I don't need titles. I don't root for good teams (mostly). I just want honest effort and some fun for my entertainment dollar/time. If you're not even going to try to do that, I'm out. There's no law tying you to incompetent/broke/cheap/shit owners who don't care about you.
Similarly, there's no glory in nonstop suffering. I promise you the winning -- if it ever happens -- doesn't make up for year after year of losing and getting crapped on by owners who don't care. It's a misery you don't need in your life.
I don't understand why you'd want to own a sports franchise just to be cheap a$$holes, piss off your entire city and never win anything ... but that's a choice you could make. And it's my right as a fan to stop caring, stop giving you my money, and tell everyone how crap you are,
