Want a fun Saturday night crazy deep dive music thread? Here you go. I like to call it “A Music Portrait of the Music Geek as a Young Music Geek,” all apologies to Jim Joyce. https://twitter.com/kza/status/1331638533547810817
I hope Kent appreciates how I kept from liking and commenting on every blasted post in that thread. Would’ve gotten tiresome quick!

I would like to quickly though add two things:
I love the category “what song immediately puts you back playing D&D”. This is an underreported category I strongly feel.

Mine is Rush “The Spirit of Radio,” b/c I started playing D&D at Scott L.’s house and he had that album. I’d never even heard of Rush. Very impressionable —
and not just because I was like “there’s no way that’s a dude singing.” How young I was.
And the 2nd thing is about Robert Palmer’s “Looking for Clues.” Kent, you’re totally right: That’s a Prince song if ever I’ve heard one.

Also: That’s been on non-stop heavy rotation here since this thread. (How heavy?!) So heavy that I was singing it while doing the dishes, and
Mrs StPaul, who was deep into a book in the other room, unconsciously added the “Oh yea-ah”s along with me in all the right places. It’s ingrained now, honey!
So. Great thread. The reason these God-forsaken social media sites are supposed to exist for.
