In so many of the cultural conversations about serial killers, the wrong question--why would someone do such horrible things?--gets asked

The right question: why does law enforcement not care about what happens to large swaths of ppl, so much so one dude can kill dozens of them
[I'm watching a show about forensic techniques so that's why I'm thinking about this lol it's not just random]
The types of ppl so many of these killers targeted are like, "nonpersons" as far as law enforcement is concerned. The fact that it was almost easy for killers to abduct & murder dozens of young queer men & sex workers is the real reason why these cases are important
The majority of these killers weren't like, super smart or whatever. & they didn't avoid capture because they were secretly geniuses. They just killed ppl who can disappear without anyone really caring.
