Vaccine news: Novavax has formally applied for Health Canada approval after those phase 3 results y’day.
And along w/ ongoing review of AstraZeneca, AZ has applied to authorize its vaccine/production with Verity and its India partner.
I understand the Serum Institute of India’s manufacturing process is different than that of AZ so Health Canada looks at it as if it is a new vaccine and reviews all of its manufacturing information.
So that makes three-four #COVID19 vaccine possibilities in Health Canada’s review pipeline.
HC regulators said they’re within days of a decision on AstraZeneca/Oxford University’s candidate, which has already been approved by several countries including UK and the Europeans.
All of which, ahem, is a bit of a shot in the arm. Pun intended. I am going to hang onto this as a bit of vaccine good news after an otherwise bleak week.
