Getting the shot today. Waited in my car for 45 minutes. Now I’m out of my car in a line that is several blocks long. Old people line moving faster. Cops aren’t wearing masks.
This guy and his buddy are set up near the line of cars. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
FEMA guy just now: “Thank you for your patience. We’re doing 4000 shots today. It’s the most we’ve ever done. We realize the line is long, but we urge you to be patient.” Few folks applauded. In fairness the line is moving steadily.
First time in my life living in Texas has proved to be an advantage, because Tarrant County’s rollout so far has been pretty smooth.
This is so weird, but I’m really excited to see which vaccine I’m getting - idk if it’s Pfizer or Moderna, but I’ve been reading about reported side effects so I can talk to my students about how I felt afterward.
Wearing a @DemSocialists T-shirt to scare boomers.
FEMA guy: “we’re not letting you leave without a shot today. No matter what time it is.”
Couple of Karen’s are showing their whole asses. “I don’t even think it’s real and I’m here!” “I’m just sick of black lives whatever, I can always sue Congress if the vaccine gives me cancer.”
Why would you sue Congress...?
Other T-shirts spotted in line: Led Zeppelin, “protect your coffee” with a gun printed on it.
Almost inside!!!!!!!
Inside now, I can smell the science!!!!!!!
“Don’t You Forget About Me” is playing on the PA which is a little on the nose tbh.
Oh god now they’re playing “Hello” by Lionel Richie.
They are now playing “Beat It” by noted pedophile by Michael Jackson. In better news it’s the Moderna shot we’re all getting here.
The line isn’t terribly diverse, I’m sad to say. Almost all white with a handful of BIPOC.
PA is now playing MC Hammer.
SO CLOSE
I got the shot I GOT THE SHOT. They’re keeping us here for 15 minutes to make sure we don’t have adverse responses.
My arm hurts a bit.
Feel a tad queasy. All normal reactions so far, according to doctor administering shot.
FEMA personnel here are from all over: D.C., Alabama, Montana, Florida, Nebraska.
Lmfao they caught a middle aged white guy trying to leave early.
“No you don’t get it, I’m fine.”
“Sir, please sit back down.”
“I told you I’m fine.”
“That’s great, but we have to make sure.”
[to the tune of “I Shot the Sheriff”] 🎶I got the vaccine / I still need the second shot🎶
Feeling fatigued and queasy, which is all normal. Very glad I got the shot. Booster is in a month.
Entire left side of my body is in pain. Feels like I’ve been slammed against a brick wall. I have so little energy I can’t talk at normal volume level or as much. Alex is making me tea. Using my left arm is almost impossible.
