For The House folks:

Not only is Liz ratcheting up her attacks on Biden to bolster standing in caucus, she used a steering committee meeting this week to support @RepThomasMassie appt to Judiciary (!)

Last year, she supported Massie’s primary opponent
Imagine if Pelosi thought her left flank should shape the 2022 Senate primaries, effectively determine who they nominate in PA, OH, NC, WI

and FL

Like: let’s run Alan Grayson sted of Stephanie Murphy against Marco

About where Rs in the two chambers are right now
McCarthy and McConnell have had low-grade grumbling in their caucuses - but for the opposite reason.

McCarthy has all but aired his inner monologue in public on Trump + LIZ while McConnell has irritated his colleagues by not saying much at all in private.
. @alexburnsNYT and I wrote on the post 1/6 gulf between GOP lawmakers and voters that week.

But it can’t be emphasized enough. Dozens of lawmakers fear/dread their voters, don’t want to fake it on Fox primetime & deal w being yelled at in airports once a week.
The night Portman retired, I counted five GOP senators on Fox primetime.

Next day Bliss teed up this beauty to @HotlineJosh -

“If you want to spend all your time on FOX and be[ing] an asshole, there’s never been a better time to serve”
