Home ownership is not for everyone.

If you like the freedom of moving when you feel like it home ownership is not for you.

If worrying about things going wrong stresses you out home ownership is not for you.

If you don't like research & budgeting home ownership is not for you https://twitter.com/queenveej/status/1355579368253362178
If you own you have a lot more control over the property and what you do with it. You have more of an opportunity to get your money back out of what you putting in.

But a lot of what folks say they hate about owning a home are costs baked into what you pay someone else to rent.
For some folks they happily take that trade off & there's nothing wrong with that

But if you treat owning a home like you're a landlord renting to yourself you'll probably realize you're looking at more home than you can really afford.

And banks will loan 5x what you can afford
Me? I personally believe deeply in real estate. But I'm also capable of doing a lot of my own shit and that lowers the cost a lot. That is becoming increasingly rare. If you gotta pay someone to cut the yard and do all your plumbing/electrical the 💰 you gotta have on hand ⬆️
I was up pissy working on plumbing last night, actually. And it took me a week to get to it (just a leak) but I fixed it for 20 bucks. Plumber gonna be probably 100+.

All that has to weigh in when you look at buying.
But it's wild the energy folks have for landlords on here when all y'all want to rent. Cause that divide between property owners and renters is only going up.

Either gotta take care of your own stuff or pay for the privilege of someone else doing it

Applies to more than housing
