A word on gender. This has come up again in relation to a few of my fave ladies in this community in only the last day or so. Comments to the effect that they are followed only because they're female... as though nothing they have to say has value because of their gender.
The fact that they are smart, witty, good people who are also excellent at this game... suddenly that doesn't have meaning? Or it's somehow negated because a woman dares be physically attractive. If the latter point is an issue, that's your one, not hers.
It is a minority who suggest this. A minority I don't engage with. Fortunately for the most part our community is inclusive, kind and supportive, regardless of gender. And I stand by that, I wouldn't be a part of this community if it wasn't the case.
But as one female in this community, it is also disheartening to witness this from random trolls looking to seek attention, or justify their clear misogyny.

But here's a novel thought... Perhaps the reason his number of followers is so low (and those of his ilk) is not because he's male, but rather because he's exactly the sort of ignorant cretin that we won't entertain.
