Very excited to be able to watch the @TheLibertadores Final on @BBCSport tonight in the UK. Best of luck to both teams @SantosFC and @Palmeiras

#Santos #Palmeiras #CopaLibertadores #FootballShirt #BrazilianFootball #CONEMBOL
All of this of course despite what @ncustisTheSun has to say haha #FootballHipster https://twitter.com/FKMPodcast/status/1355222487534075907?s=20
It so happens that I have one #FootballShirt from each team, so why not post a few photos and some info I've largely plagiarised from @Wikipedia ?
This is a beautiful @Palmeiras 2018-19 third shirt by @adidasfootball , the final the brand with the #ThreeStripes produced for the #Verdao before the switch to @pumafootball
They went out with a bang with @adidasbrasil winning the 2018 @Brasileirao in this shirt, their tenth national title (a Brazilian record). The club also won the #CopaLibertadores in 1999.
The club was founded as 'Palestra Italia' in #SaoPaolo -largely - like @BocaJrsOficial - by Italian immigrants. The team even originally played in blue like @azzurri. The 'P' of 'Palestra' (Gymnasium) is retained on the club crest today.
Eight white stars representing both the month the club was founded (Aug) in 1914 & the initial eight Sao Paolo state titles it won in as 'Palestra Italia'. The red star was added in 2017, celebrating the club’s 1951 #CopaRio victory vs @juventusfcen
This rather Smart @SantosFC 2019/20 away shirt pays homage to 90s #footballdesign and is testament to the excellent work @UmbroBrasil have been doing in recent seasons.
#Pele 's @SantosFC was founded in 1912 in the eponymous city.

One of Brazil's most successful sides, #SantosFC have won countless league titles, 3 #CopaLibertadores (1962, 1963 & 2011) and 2 #IntercontinentalCups (1962, 63)... earning them the attractive moniker Os Santasticos
The crest (or variations of it) seems to have been in use since the club's formation, with black representing 'nobility' and white representing 'peace' - allegedly. The two gold stars represent the 2 @ClubWorldCups cup victories during the 1960s. #SantosFC
In any case, obrigado for reading this far!

Best of luck again @SantosFC & @Palmeiras - I'm off to switch it on.
