artifact stats and what you need to know; a thread for confused genshin players
all artifacts have a main stat and can have up to 4 sub stats! some artifacts, i.e the plume and the flower have what we call fixed stats! (plume - atk, flower - hp.) while other artifact pieces can have other stats and even special ones !
starting off, we have mainstats! now, mainstats are basically the first thing you see when you get an artifact.
mainstats are basically be what the artifact specializes on the most and is important when you're gonna build a character.
for certain artifacts, like mentioned before, have a fixed main stat! i.e plume and flower! which has flat atk as their mainstat and the flower having flat hp as its mainstat!
the timepiece has the exclusive energy recharge main stat, the goblet has the exclusive elemental/physical dmg bonus, and the circlet has crit rate, crit dmg, and healing bonus as it's exclusive main stat.
common main stats among most artifacts are atk% , def%, hp% and elemental mastery!
sub stats, however are not as important as main stats , but sub stats WILL affect how your character performs. even if you do have a good main stat, if your sub stats are weak, then your character will not reach the result you want.
sub stats mainly consist of crit rate, crit dmg, flat atk and atk%, flat def and def%, hp flat and hp%, and energy recharge as well as elemental mastery!
now that we're over with the basics, let's move on to what each stat does !
first off we have flat atk and atk% which is basically how much damage your character does. this can go as a main stat or sub stat! this works well with any character!
next is def flat and def% , this basically refers to how much resistance your characters have towards incoming dmg. this can go as main stat or sub stat! characters like noelle usually scale off of def!
next up, we have hp flat and hp%, which is basically how much health your character has. this could be a sub stat or main stat! hp stats are usually best just being on sub stats unless you have characters that are too glassy for your liking
now, elemental mastery is a measure of how powerful your elemental reactions can be! (i.e swirl, overload, melt, freeze, etc) elemental mastery is usually a sub stat but could be a main stat too! these are good with elemental supports who need elemental dmg increase!
next we have crit rate! which is basically the percentage you have in order to execute crit damage. this could go as a main stat or a sub stat! usually, you build these with dps characters since there should be a 1:2 ratio of crit rate and crit dmg!
we obviously have crit damage which basically refers too the additional dmg bonus when you hit critically! this can go as your main stat or a sub stat! again, these are best placed with dps characters!
energy recharge is basically something that increases your energy regeneration that can get your ult! this could be a main stat or a sub stat! characters like venti, sucrose, or albedo usually need these because of their ult!
healing bonus! this basically increases the heals generated by healers! this is only a main stat! and works best with any healer !
lastly, we have elemental dmg/physical dmg bonus! pretty self explanatory because it increases [element]/physical dmg!
and lastly, im going to be explaining artifact set bonuses!
first bonus is the gladiator finale set! 2 pc bonus increases atk by 18% then 4pc set increases normal dmg if this user is not a ranged character!
next up is wanderers troupe which increases your elemental mastery at the 2 pc bonus then for the 4 pc bonus increases charged shots if the user is a ranged character!
next we have thundering fury and thundersoother. both are great sets and don't really have much of a difference! 4 pc thundering fury lets you have stronger EM and 4 pc thundersooth increases dmg for characters affected by electro!
lavawalker and crimson witch aren't very different either, crimson lets you have more dmg on your elemental reactions and lavawalker increases dmg to enemies affected by pyro!
viridiscent venerer is for anemo characters because if the 2 pc anemo damage bonus but for the 4 piece is only really beneficial for supports like sucrose because it involves elemental reactions!
archaic petra is for geo characters as it increases their dmg as well as provide good support with crystalize because it allows your team 35% dmg bonus for the element you had just crystalized!
bloodstained isn't really one of my favorite sets but for 2 pc it allows you 25% physical dmg which is good for dps' whose dmg relies on physical dmg and for 4 pc your charged atk is increased by 50% and reduces your stamina!
noblesse oblige !! this set offers you 2 pc elemental burst dmg so if your character has a burst ult (i.e albedo, bennett, etc,) basically offers 20% burst dmg! then for 4 pc, it increase the teams atk by 20% for 12 seconds!
maiden beloved is a healer centered set! 2 pc of this set increases character healing by 15% and 4 pc set increases healing received by your party if you used an elemental skill or your ult!
next we have the retracing bolide which provides shield strength by 35%! and for the 4pc set, it provides additional 40% normal and charged attack dmg while protected by said shield!
blizzard slayer is a cryo set which offers 15% cryo dmg bonus for 2pc and increases crit rate by 20% if an enemy is affected by cryo and increases when the opponent is frozen!
and last but not least we have the ocean conqueror! this is a hydro set which offers hyrdo dmg bonus by 15% at 2pc and at 4 pc, this set increases normal and charged attack dmg by 30% for 15 seconds after using your characters elemental skill!
